Find fully funded scholarships, fellowships and paid internships open to Ethiopian students — at home, across Africa, and worldwide. Updated daily.
Ethiopia is one of the most active countries in our community, with thousands of students every month searching for funded opportunities in Europe, the United States, China and across the African continent. Below is the live list of scholarships currently accepting applications from Ethiopian nationals.
Where Ethiopians win most. China leads by volume thanks to the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) and Confucius Institute awards, followed by Germany (DAAD EPOS, KAAD, Heinrich Böll) and the United States (Fulbright Foreign Student, MasterCard Foundation Scholars). The Netherlands (OKP/NFP) and Italy (Italian Government Scholarship) are reliable second-tier pathways.
Application calendar. CSC opens in December–March, DAAD clusters in August–October, Fulbright Ethiopia closes in May–June via the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, and OKP windows open twice a year. Authenticate your transcripts at MoSHE early — turnaround can take six weeks.
