The Sankalp Awards is a celebration of outstanding social entrepreneurs and a showcase of innovative and successful businesses globally. The 2021 edition of Sankalp Global Awards is looking for social entrepreneurs who are mainstreaming impact, are making a positive impact on society, gaining hands-on experience, and networking with a global community.

## Benefits of the Sankalp Africa Awards
Funding within the range of USD $100,000 – 1,000,000 can be dedicated and invested for proposed business models with high potential to scale.
## Requirements for Promising Social Entrepreneurs
In order to qualify for the Sankalp Africa Awards for promising social entrepreneurs, one must first run a high-impact business that caters to rural, low-income, or disadvantaged communities in any of these five main sectors: agriculture, clean energy, and climate solutions, financial inclusion, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and future of work(ers).
In addition, interested parties must have a clear for-profit business model with high potential for scale. They should have some proof of concept on the ground and are preferably getting revenues. Lastly, the participants should also have an experienced and dedicated promoter team.

Eligibility criteria

- Citizen or permanent resident of an eligible African country
- Strong academic record — typically a minimum GPA equivalent to a UK 2:1 / US 3.3
- English-language proficiency demonstrated by IELTS, TOEFL or an MOI letter
- Two academic or professional references able to speak to your potential
