## Benefits of the Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship Program
An annual scholarship amount ranging from $300 to $3,000 is offered under the Wells Mountain Initiative Program. This shall be provided throughout the duration of the recipient’s undergraduate study.
On average, the scholarship is worth $1,400, which is used for tuition and fees, books and materials, and room rent.

## What is the Wells Mountain Initiative?
WMI works to create social change through education and community building.
By providing bright young people in the developing world with student scholarships, skills training, and start-up funding, the organization is able to help build a network of grassroots leaders who are catalyzing community transformation.
The foundation funds undergraduate studies in high-need sectors. They also aid recipients in leading social service projects during their academic career and stand alongside them to address any challenges, so that they successfully complete their studies.
Post-graduation, WMI provides life-long support. It includes professional development and social entrepreneurship training, community development grants to start and grow their own community projects and businesses, regular in-person conferences and online webinars, and support for in-country scholar-led fellowships.

## Eligibility Criteria for Interested Students
To qualify for a spot in the Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship Program, students from developing countries must have:
- Successfully completed secondary education, with good to excellent grades
- Be studying in their country or another country in the developing world
- Plans to live and work in their own country after they graduate
- Have volunteered prior to applying for this scholarship and/or is willing to volunteer while receiving the WMI scholarship
- Some other funds available for their education, but will not be able to go to school without a scholarship
## How to Apply for the Program
Applying for WMI’s opportunity for bachelor’s degree takers can be done through online processing or physical mail-in.
