The WAAW Foundation is happy to open its available scholarships for African women in undergraduate STEM this 2022. With the purpose of increasing the pipeline of African women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-related disciplines, WAAW works to ensure that female talent is engaged in African innovation. Furthermore, the WAAW Foundation scholarship recipients may reapply for renewal the following year, with proof of continued excellent academic performance. ## Eligibility Criteria for African Women The annual scholarship project of the WAAW foundation aims to fund need-based African female STEM-focused college education. Before you apply, please read the eligibility requirements. All applications that do not meet the requirements will be automatically deleted. Found below are the eligibility requirements prior to application: • Female students of African ancestry who live and study in Africa meet the eligibility criteria. • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BS degree program. • Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa. • Demonstrable financial need, and • Excellent Academic Record. • Below the age of 32 years. • Graduation date is after December of the award year ## How to Apply Interested African women in undergraduate STEM are required to include the following documents and materials in their application: - The application form filled out completely. - Personal and Contact Information. - Educational background and Family Information. - Statement of need should describe why scholarship funds are needed and what the funds will be used for if received. - Essays are strong criteria in determining candidates who are shortlisted.
