The University of Amsterdam aims to attract the world’s brightest students to its international classrooms. Outstanding students from outside the European Economic Area can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship.

## Benefits of the Amsterdam Merit Scholarships
Depending on the faculty, the scholarship can vary between €2,000 – €25,000. The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship can sometimes be supplemented with the [Holland Scholarship](https://www.scholars4dev.com/15082/holland-scholarship-for-non-eu-international-students/), of which the University of Amsterdam is a participating member.
## Eligibility Criteria for International Students
Students who hold a non-EU/EEA passport and have applied for a degree program at the University of Amsterdam may submit an application for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship.
Please read the specific eligibility criteria of each faculty (links to faculty pages found above).
## How to Apply
Applications should be sent to the Graduate Schools’ Admissions Offices. On the Faculty or Graduate School websites, you can find detailed eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and application processes. Scholarship applications have different deadlines depending on the faculty. Except for a few, most faculties have a deadline of 15 January 2022, while others have a deadline of 1 March 2022.
