It is intended to encourage talented international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to study in the Netherlands. **Award:** €5,000 paid in the first year of study (not a full-tuition scholarship). **Participating institutions (2026–2027) include:** Eindhoven University of Technology, Maastricht University, Radboud University, University of Groningen, University of Twente, Utrecht University, VU Amsterdam, Wageningen University & Research, and many universities of applied sciences (Aeres, Amsterdam UAS, etc.). **How to apply:** Apply directly to the participating institution; deadlines and exact procedures vary per university (most fall between February and May).

  • Published or unpublished writing sample (PhD and research-led Masters)

Finalise essays, upload supporting documents, complete the online application portal.

  4. 1 month out

Final review, double-check uploaded files, submit a week before the deadline to avoid portal issues.

  5. Application deadline
