A Journalism Graduate Trainee Program will be opened by the Nation Media Group (NMG) to provide more opportunities for Kenyans interested in a journalism career.

Journalism Graduate Trainee Program Details

The successful graduates will be taken through in-depth and practical training in print, broadcast and digital journalism at Nairobi, Kenya. While the number of awardees has not been specified, NMG offers an eventual full-time position for qualified trainees.

Eligibility Requirements by NMG

In order to land a spot in the Journalism Graduate Trainee Program of NMG, Kenyan applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • The aspirants must have first degree with at least an upper second class. Furthermore, graduates with journalism, actuarial science, technology, business/economics/finance, law, political science or human sciences degree will have an added advantage.
  •  Prospective trainees must provide evidence of digital astuteness.
  • Interested Kenyans should also possess excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Next, qualifiers must have thorough knowledge of current affairs.
  • In addition, these Kenyans should be self-driven and have the ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Furthermore, aspirants must have a good command of English and Kiswahili.
