If you are francophone and applying to an English-speaking country, the single strongest thing you can do is submit a sworn translation of your relevé de notes together with a short note explaining the /20 marking scale — for example '14/20 is a Bien, awarded to roughly the top 15% of the cohort.' Without that line a 14/20 is often read as 70% and quietly downgraded.
