Get weekly updates on new scholarships offerings here. * * * ## Benefits of the SADC Secondary School Essay Competition The top three (3) prize winners will receive their prizes and certificates on the margins of the 41st SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in Lilongwe, Republic of Malawi in August 2022. The first prize winner receives USD $1,500. Meanwhile, the second prize winner gains USD $1,000, and the third prize winner is entitled to USD $750. ## Eligibility Criteria for SADC Member Countries All secondary school going students from all 16 Southern African Development Community (SADC) Member States are welcome to participate in the Competition. The topic for the 2022 SADC Secondary School Essay Competition is “How can SADC boost productive capacities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic?” This is derived from the theme of the 41st Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government hosted by the Republic of Malawi in Lilongwe on 17th August 2021, which is; “Bolstering Productive Capacities in the Face of COVID-19 Pandemic for Inclusive, Sustainable, Economic and Industrial Transformation”. Moreover, the Summit theme seeks to accelerate the implementation of the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020–2030, in particular, the Industrialization and Market Integration pillar. ## How to Apply The Secretariat is further advising interested students to obtain more information and entry forms from their schools in their respective Member States.
