In the most recent Research Excellence Framework, Kent was ranked in the top 20 for research intensity in the Times Higher Education, outperforming 11 of the 24 elite Russell Group universities. Available International Student Scholarships

Kent offers a comprehensive variety of scholarships to international students who achieve outstanding academic merits from entry-level and beyond in their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Kent Success Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students

Up to 20 awards are available for the Kent Success Scholarships. A scholarship amount of £2,000 is paid towards the cost of tuition fees and is offered to nationals of any country paying overseas fees.

On another note, the University of Kent encourages applications from the University’s strategic priority countries, which are listed here by the International Officer.

Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship program, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations.

The program offers awards for outstanding scholars from around the world who wish to study postgraduate courses (typically a one-year masters) at universities in the UK.

Furthermore, the opportunity shall cover tuition fees at the home rate, a stipend, and additional expenses.

The University of Kent is also generously co-funding a number of Chevening Awards available to applicants from Malaysia, Turkey, and Nigeria.

British Council GREAT Scholarship: China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Thailand

The GREAT Scholarships program is funded jointly by the UK Government’s GREAT Britain campaign, the British Council, and the University of Kent, as part of the Study UK campaign. 

GREAT is delighted to offer dedicated international student scholarships of £10,000 to Chinese, Ghanaian, Indian, Kenyan, Malaysian, and Thai passport holders applying for a taught master’s program based at one of their UK campuses. The award will go towards one year of tuition fees. 

Scholarships will be awarded as follows: China (x2), India (x2), Thailand (x2), Malaysia (x1), Ghana (x1), Egypt (x1), Kenya (x1) for a total of 10 awards available in 2021. 

The Bestway Foundation Scholarship

Together with The Bestway Foundation, Kent is delighted to offer 8 scholarships of £30,000 (tuition fees plus maintenance) to students from and domiciled in Pakistan, applying to their postgraduate one-year masters programs in Science, Technology, and Mathematics. 

International Multimedia Journalism MA Global Scholarship

The Centre for Journalism is pleased to offer this scholarship to all overseas students (including EU students) to support their studies at the University of Kent.

This award provided a stipend of £2,500 to entrants who meet the stated eligibility conditions. The scholarship will be given in a single installment in the second term of the program. The University will assess eligibility for the award after an application for entry to International Multimedia Journalism MA has been submitted. No further application for the award is required.
