Orange Corners Incubation Program Offers 40,000 Euros in Business Funding for Nigerian Entrepreneurs

The Orange Corners Incubation Program is made available to young Nigerian entrepreneurs hoping to upskill, find ample business funding, and develop their business concepts. If you have a stellar start-up in the making, this might be the perfect opportunity to bring it forward!

An initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in partnership with a local service provider, the Orange Corners Incubation Program offers six months of skills training, networking, and access to various markets.

Through the scheme, young Nigerian business people are given better leverage to become successful future entrepreneurs.

Other than the offered business funding of 40,000 euros for winners within the said program, Orange Corners also offer a variety of other benefits, such as:

  • Enterprise Management Training
  • Business Incubation & Advisory Services
  • Funding for prototype development and testing

Furthermore, the opportunity will not only provide the foundational entrepreneurial knowledge, tools, and resources needed to transform an idea into a business but will also make available the networks and support needed for sustainable growth of the business.

The program shall be delivered in-person and virtually due to the development of the current global health crisis.

Please note that there are no participation fees for the program. It is funded by scholarships from the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Orange Corners’ private partners.

What is the Orange Corners Incubation Program?

The Orange Corners Incubation Program’s goal is to create and strengthen Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Moreover, Orange Corners also acts as a link between these forward-thinking enterprises and the private sector.

Eligibility Criteria for Nigerian Entrepreneurs

Prior to applying for the business funding and opportunity provided for young Nigerian entrepreneurs, applicants must first meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be an aspiring entrepreneur from Lagos, Nigeria
  • Be between 18-35 years old
  • Have a validated innovative business concept, not more than two years old
  • The product or service responds to a local challenge in Nigeria
  • The product or service relates to the Sustainable Development Goals

Hopeful Nigerian entrepreneurs shall be selected based on the following:

  • Innovativeness
  • Feasibility
  • Social Impact
  • Clarity of Market
  • Sustainability & Scalability of the business idea
  • Competence of the entrepreneur or team

How to Apply for a Business Funding

ONLINE APPLICATION: The application form becomes available on Orange Corners’ website prior to the beginning of each six-month cycle. Fill in all required fields and submit via the online application form submit button. Please make sure to check your inbox regularly to see if you are one of the 50 selected semi-finalists.

BOOT CAMP: The 50 semi-finalists will be invited to participate in a compulsory two-day-long boot camp in which a jury decides who are best placed to join the incubation program.

SELECTION: Selection will be conducted according to the performance during the boot camp. At the end of the boot camp, 20 young entrepreneurs will be selected to participate for six months.

After the review process which will require interviews, successful applicants will be contacted via email.
