The University of Exeter hosts international student scholarships for Africans and other nationalities outside the UK.
Twenty-eight percent of the overall student population is made up of international students. Exeter takes pride in being a global institution, with staff and students from more than 130 countries.

About the University of Exeter
A member of the Russell Group of UK universities, Exeter combines excellence in teaching and research.
It was awarded gold in the first Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) in recognition of the high quality of its teaching. In addition, 98% of the institution’s research was rated as international quality in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF).
The University of Exeter is organized into six academic colleges. Their many research institutes and centers include the Centre for Leadership Studies, the Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture, the Living Systems Institute, and the Environment and Sustainability Institute. Its research themes are often interdisciplinary and include climate change, translational medicine, and exoplanets.

Global Excellence Scholarships
Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarships have been created to support students wishing to develop their academic potential and contribute to the thriving university community of students and staff from over 170 countries.
A range of full, £10,000 and £5,000 tuition fee scholarships are on offer. These are being offered in the following subject areas:

Sport Scholarships
The University of Exeter Sports Scholarship Scheme is one of the most prestigious in the UK, helping the best student athletes reach their full potential. The scheme provides a comprehensive support package and is tailored to suit the needs of each individual athlete.
The Scholarship Scheme provides three separate awards for a student-athlete to be supported through:
Sport Scholarship – awarded annually to international level athletes competing in one of Exeter’s eight Performance Sports.
Sport Performance Bursary – awarded annually to international level athletes (including a national ranking if applicable) competing for an AU recognized sport that is not a performance sport.
Partnership Bursary – awarded annually to athletes competing for one of the University of Exeter’s recognized partners in one of their eight performance sports.
Choral Scholarships
In addition to the Chapel Choir, the University also has close performing relations with Exeter Cathedral and three local churches, each offering their own scholarship schemes. The awards available are of various values, depending on weekly duties.
Chapel Choir (University of Exeter)
Choral scholarships worth £300 per annum as well as extra fees for other services is being given in two halves through the academic year.
Crediton Parish Church
The Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross, Crediton offers up to three scholarships every year, each worth £875 per annum.
Exeter Cathedral Choir
The scholarships are normally tenable for three years, though this may be extended for an extra year in certain circumstances. Scholarships are also open to postgraduates for one year or more.
Each scholarship, payable by the Dean and Chapter, is currently worth £3,000 per annum and will be paid in monthly installments.
The Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Exeter
St Michael’s offers a number of scholarships for students, all of which are awarded in September following an audition process. These include £400 and £600 per annum schemes.
St. Peter’s Parish Church, Tiverton
St Peter’s Tiverton offers four Choral Scholarships each year worth £720 + expenses. They are provided by the Viscount Amory Charitable Trust.

Postgraduate Progression Scholarship
Graduating University of Exeter students completing their degree in Summer 2021 and progressing directly to a standalone taught masters degree (eg MA; MSc; MRes; MFA) or research degree (eg MPhil/PhD) can earn a scholarship towards the cost of their tuition fees.
These awards are worth 10% of the first-year tuition fee for students enrolling on a postgraduate taught or research program of study in 2021/22, with the exception of Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma programs.
Furthermore, awards are available to all domestic and international University finalists graduating from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree awarded by the University of Exeter.
