The Fulbright Foreign Student Program offers graduate and postgraduate study opportunities for international students looking to study in USA universities.

Operating in more than 160 countries across the globe, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program is administered by binational Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or U.S. Embassies. In turn, all Foreign Student Program applications are processed by these offices.

About the Fulbright Foreign Student Program

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international academic exchange program sponsored by the US government.

Through the opportunity, alumni from the United States and around the world have gone on to achieve distinction in government, science, the arts, business, philanthropy, and education.

Among the ranks of Fulbright alumni are 60 Nobel Prize recipients, 75 MacArthur Foundation Fellows, 89 Pulitzer Prize winners, and 40 current or former heads of state or government.

Furthermore, the program is noted for its merit-based selection process and academic prestige. Fulbright students come from all backgrounds and are selected regardless of their race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, geographic location, socio-economic status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Each year, the US Congress appropriates funds to the US Department of State to sponsor the Fulbright Program. Many foreign governments contribute substantially as well. Additional direct or in-kind funding is provided by US and foreign institutions of higher education, non-governmental organizations, private organizations, corporate partnerships, and individual donors.

How to Apply for the Fulbright Program

All Foreign Student Program applications are processed by bi-national Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or US Embassies. Therefore, foreign students must apply through the Fulbright Commission/Foundation or the US. Embassy in their home countries. 

The application deadline varies per country but is usually around February to October annually.
