## About the Rotary Peace Fellowships The Rotary Peace Fellowships are highly competitive and fully-funded awards offered by The Rotary Foundation. Each year, up to 170 fellowships are granted to dedicated leaders globally, enabling them to pursue advanced studies and professional development in peace and development. ## What the Fellowship Covers These fellowships are comprehensive, covering all essential expenses. This includes full tuition and university fees, accommodation (room and board), round-trip transportation to the study location, and costs associated with internships and required field studies. This substantial funding ensures that fellows can focus entirely on their studies and professional growth without financial burden. ## Study Programs Available The Rotary Peace Fellowships support two distinct types of programs: * **Master’s Degree Programs:** These programs, lasting 15 to 24 months, are designed for candidates to study peace and development issues through research-informed teaching. They include a two- to three-month self-designed field study experience. Up to 50 master's fellowships are awarded annually. * **Professional Development Certificate Program:** This one-year blended learning program is tailored for experienced peace and development professionals. It focuses on developing practical skills for peacebuilding within communities and regions. Fellows undertake field studies and implement a social change initiative. Up to 120 certificate fellowships are awarded annually. ## Eligibility and Application Applicants are typically leaders with a proven track record in peace and development work. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to service and the advancement of peace. International applicants, including those from Africa, are strongly encouraged to apply. The application period for the 2027-28 Rotary Peace Fellowship is currently open and can be accessed online, with a deadline of 15 May 2026. ## The Value of a Rotary Peace Fellowship Since its inception in 2002, the Rotary Peace Centers program has trained over 1,800 fellows from more than 140 countries. Alumni go on to become influential leaders in government, non-governmental organizations, educational and research institutions, peacekeeping, law enforcement, and international bodies such as the United Nations and the World Bank. The fellowship not only provides world-class academic and practical training but also cultivates a global network of peacebuilders, equipping fellows to be effective catalysts for positive change in a complex world.
