Northwestern offers need-based financial aid to a limited group of international undergraduates who indicate on their admission application that they wish to be considered for aid. Aid packages are funded entirely by the university and meet 100% of demonstrated need, typically through scholarships and a small student work expectation. Because the budget is limited, the international aid pool is need-aware — applying for aid is part of the admissions decision. Once admitted with aid, your award is renewable for four years as long as you remain in good academic standing and your family's financial circumstances are similar. African applicants should plan ahead, submit the CSS Profile early, and check the official aid page for the exact documents required for their country.
