Programme category: Scholarship Application status checked on 22 October 2026: OPEN. The University of Newcastle in Australia offers a 20% international tuition reduction for eligible new students commencing in 2027 or later. The discount is calculated by enrolled units and applies to the units required to complete the eligible degree. Older scholarship offers retain their own terms. Eligibility and limits Applicants must be full-fee international students entering eligible onshore CRICOS undergraduate or coursework postgraduate programmes and reside within 50 km of the campus shown on their Confirmation of Enrolment. African applicants are included. Applicants must fund remaining study costs. Research degrees, standalone graduate certificates/diplomas, non-CRICOS, English, enabling, non-award, exchange, study-abroad, offshore and online study are excluded. Graduate certificates or diplomas packaged with a master’s can qualify. Quota-limited courses listed in Appendix 1 are excluded. Internal Australian-campus transfers, Singapore-campus transfers, externally sponsored students and Australia Awards recipients are ineligible. Other University scholarships require special approval. No visa, health insurance, travel, housing, living, medical, amenities, books or materials costs are covered. Extra or repeated units beyond the entitlement are not funded. Maintain international status, financial good standing and at least GPA 4.0; deferrals are reassessed and internal course transfers do not preserve the scholarship. Promotional participation may be required. Application Assessment is automatic with admission, but the scholarship must appear in the offer and is not guaranteed.
