Présentation du programme

The Honjo International Scholarship Foundation supports foreign students who study, or plan to study, for a master's or doctoral degree at a Japanese graduate school. All nationalities and research fields are welcome, and applicants apply directly to the foundation without university pre-selection. Applicants abroad may apply if they have been accepted to a Japanese graduate school. **Stipend:** ¥230,000 per month for 1–2 year degrees; ¥210,000 for 3-year degrees; ¥180,000 for longer degrees, paid for the minimum period required for the degree. About ten scholarships are available. **Application period:** 1 September – 31 October 2026, 11:59pm Japan Standard Time. **Schedule:** document screening results 31 January 2027; interviews 8 February 2027 (Tokyo or video call); final results 31 March 2027. **How to apply:** use the foundation's online application system, upload required documents and a two-minute video about your research.
