## About the DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and DAAD jointly fund research stays at DLR institutes for highly qualified international PhD candidates, postdocs, and senior scientists. Topics span aerospace, energy, transport, and digitalisation — areas of strategic interest to many African research and innovation systems. ## Award value - Doctoral candidates: monthly stipend (~€2,400) for 6–36 months - Postdocs and senior scientists: monthly stipend (~€2,800–€3,300) - Health insurance, travel allowance, family allowance - Access to DLR research infrastructure ## Eligibility - Non-German nationality - Excellent degree in a DLR-relevant field (engineering, physics, computer science, etc.) - Confirmed host researcher at a DLR institute - Proposed research project aligned with DLR’s programmes ## How to apply 1. Identify a DLR institute and host researcher. 2. Discuss and agree on a research project. 3. Apply via the DAAD portal when a matching call is open (multiple calls per year, see DAAD scholarship database). 4.
