Benefits of the Agriculture Economics PhD Scholarships

Fully-funded scholarships are available for up to a maximum of three years under this scheme, initially granted for one year and may be extended upon individual request and receipt of a complete application by using forms to be provided. The duration of the PhD program is 3 years.

The DAAD, also known as Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (English translation: German Academic Exchange Service) offers PhD scholarships as part of its “In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Program.” The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is funding the program, which is aimed first and foremost at university employees, without forgetting the public sector’s desire for academically prepared personnel.

The In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Program supports studies in subject areas with strong relevance to national development. Graduates and postgraduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa with a master’s degree who want to pursue a PhD in Agriculture Economics are welcome to take the opportunity either:

How to Apply for a DAAD Scholarship

Interested applicants must submit their applications for admission directly to the respective host universities. Application procedures can be obtained from the respective university websites. Upon receipt of an admission letter, temporary admission letter or letter assuring admission from the specific university, the applicant should apply for scholarship by submitting the following documents via the designated website not later than Dec 15, 2021.
