To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a Nigerian national, be classified as overseas for fee purposes, and have accepted an offer to study an eligible Masters course at Sussex in January 2022. You are not eligible if studying Postgraduate diplomas, Corruption, Law and Governance LLM (delivered in Qatar), Development Studies MA, Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status), Globalisation, Business and Development MA, Governance, Development and Public Policy MA, Power, Participation and Social Change MA, Poverty and Development MA, Masters degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary), PGCE courses, Schools direct teaching courses, or any Masters funded by the research councils.

The University of Sussex is offering scholarships for Nigerians studying a master’s degree course at their institution overseas. As part of a broader initiative for the pursuit of student excellence, the English-based public research university is opening its doors for an unlimited number of Nigerians. Furthermore, the scholarship covers any full-time taught master’s degree course at the University of Sussex, such as MA, MSc, LLM, and MRes, with only a few exceptions. ### **Benefits of a Scholarship from the University of Sussex** The scholarship is worth £3,000 for applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and will be awarded as a fee reduction upon registering at Sussex. For applicants holding or expecting to achieve a First Class degree, equivalent to a British Bachelors Honors degree from a Higher Education Institution in Nigeria, the award will automatically be enhanced to £5,000. Additionally, the scholarship will be awarded as a fee reduction. ### **Eligibility for a Nigerian Scholarship** To qualify for the University of Sussex’s Master’s Degree Scholarships for Nigerians, the applicant must meet the following criteria: - First and foremost, the aspiring scholar must be a national of Nigeria. - He or she must also be a self-financing student. - Moreover, the student must have accepted an offer of a full-time place on a master’s course at the University of Sussex commencing in September 2021. - Lastly, the aspiring Nigerian scholar should meet the published academic requirements for your chosen course. ![](https://i0.wp.com/scholarshipsforafricans.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Scholarships-for-Nigerians.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&ssl=1)The master’s degree scholarship is worth £3,000 for Nigerian applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. If you have already applied via one of the institution’s overseas representatives in Nigeria, you will need to ask them to do this on your behalf. Please do note that you will only be able to accept one University of Sussex scholarship. Remember that you must declare your interest in the scholarship via PG Apply before you register for your master’s degree. In effect, information about the scholarship will be included in your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) for your visa application.
