Kochi University of Technology Special Scholarship Program Provider: Kochi University of Technology Study destination: Japan Study level: PhD Award Three-year tuition and entrance fees exemption; JPY 150,000 monthly; eligible overseas entrants get JPY 150,000 travel/startup grant. Eligibility International doctoral candidates, normally age 35 or younger, with masters-equivalent degree, English and prior supervisor approval. Eligible African countries: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe. All other academic, residency and programme requirements also apply. Application timing October 16, 2026: documents must arrive; supervisor permission required before formal application. The pre-application normally needs to begin eight weeks earlier; this near deadline is practical only for applicants who already have the required consent and documents.
