نظرة عامة على البرنامج
Erasmus Mundus MultiDiverse is a Joint Master in Multilingualism and Cultural Diversity, delivered by a consortium of European universities specialising in sociolinguistics, language policy, intercultural communication and education. Students study at two or three partner universities across Europe over two years and graduate with a joint degree. ## Why this scholarship matters for African applicants Multilingualism is the defining feature of African societies — most African students grow up speaking 2–4 languages across home, school and public life. MultiDiverse graduates are equipped to lead language-of-instruction policy, mother-tongue education programmes, and intercultural communication work in NGOs, ministries of education and pan-African bodies. ## What the award covers Full tuition for the two-year master's, one-off €1,000 travel and installation grant, additional travel allowance for Partner Country students, and a monthly living stipend of €1,400 paid for the full programme duration. Insurance included. ## How the selection process works Apply directly to the MultiDiverse consortium during the Erasmus Mundus scholarship round. A bachelor's in linguistics, education, anthropology, modern languages or related humanities is expected, plus English-language proficiency. A research-style motivation letter is required. ## Application tips that move the needle African applicants stand out when they frame the motivation letter around a specific multilingual policy gap — e.g. early-grade reading outcomes in mother-tongue versus English/French in West Africa, indigenous language preservation in East Africa. Reference one or two consortium professors whose work overlaps. ## Deadlines and intake windows Scholarship-eligible deadline typically falls between mid-January and mid-February for September entry. Confirm on the MultiDiverse page within the Erasmus Mundus catalogue. ## Useful internal reading - Browse open scholarships: https://scholarshipsforafricans.com/scholarships - How to write a winning scholarship essay: https://scholarshipsforafricans.com/blog/how-to-write-winning-scholarship-essay - Scholarship interview questions for African students: https://scholarshipsforafricans.com/blog/scholarship-interview-questions-african-students Always confirm the live intake on the sponsor's official site before you build a timeline around it.
