FUGUS is home to three faculties: the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the Faculty of Management and Social Science, and the Faculty of Science. Aside from the standard programs within these schools, the university also maintains a Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) that helps students begin and expand businesses after graduation.

The CED’s specialty themes include poultry production, eggs, chickens for sale, and livestock rearing. The university also offers housing on campus for those students who desire to use it. The application costs for students are quite reasonable, ranging from $30 to $50.

2. Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State

The Federal University in Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) was founded in 2011 to relieve pressure on existing Nigerian institutions and provide additional chances for young people to attend university. The university is in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, in the southwest of Nigeria. Currently, the university has roughly 7,000 students.

The institution offers on-campus housing, although students may also opt to reside in Dutsin-Ma, which is nearby. The university’s faculties include Arts, Education, Agriculture and Technology, Social Sciences, and Life Sciences, among others.

4. Federal University, Kashere

The Federal University of Kashere (FUK) is located in Gombe, the capital of Gombe State in Nigeria’s northeast. The city’s population is estimated to be approximately 260,000 people.

This Nigerian institution with a good admission rate provides bachelor’s degrees and postgraduate programs in four faculties: Agriculture, Education, Humanities, and Science. All students have access to on-campus accommodation as well as a variety of sports facilities. FUK is one of six universities and institutions in the Gombe area.

5. Federal University, Wukari

6. Federal University, Oye-Ekiti

The Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) was created in 2011. The university has two campuses in Oye-Ekiti and Ikole-Ekiti. FUOYE has seven faculties, over 6,000 students, and around 1,650 academic members.

The university’s faculties include Social Science, Agriculture, Arts, Engineering, Education, Management Science, and Science. Bachelor’s degrees are available in a variety of areas within these faculties.

There are about 2,000 students who reside on campus and have access to the university’s sporting and cultural amenities. The institution encourages students to participate in over 15 varsity sports on campus.

FUOYE has established a minimum of 45,000 NGN (USD$124) for prospective students to pay.

7. Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi

The Federal University of Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) in Birnin Kebbi Kebbi State is ranked seventh among Nigeria’s top ten institutions with a high acceptance rate. Founded in 2013, together with the Federal University of Gusau (refer to number one). FUBK now has four faculties and approximately twenty bachelor degree programs. Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Environmental Sciences, and Health Sciences are among the faculties available. Staff and students can enjoy campus sports. On campus, there is a Mini Stadium where various athletic events, such as volleyball, football, and badminton, are held on a regular basis.

8. Federal University, Lafia

The Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) is the next institution on the list. This university is located in the city of Lafia, in the state of Nasarawa.

Currently, four faculties provide bachelor’s degrees to students: the Faculty of Arts, Science, Social Sciences, and the College of Medicine. These faculties give rise to a total of 17 departments, including Botany, Creative and Visual Arts, Economics, and others. The institution has two campuses: one take-off campus in Akunza and one major campus in Gandu, near Lafia.

Although on-campus accommodation is provided, some students prefer to reside off-campus in Lafia, the state capital with a population of roughly 134,000 people.

9. Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo

Lastly is the Federal University of Dutse (FUD), which was formed in 2011. The institution lies in the city of Dutse, which is the capital of Jigawa State in Nigeria’s northwest. The institution is in the urban environment of this tiny city, which has a population of around 37,000 people.

Presently, FUD is organized into the following faculties: Agriculture, Arts and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, General Studies, Science, and Medical Science. In addition to its regular programs, the institution provides postgraduate programs.

Registration at the institution for the first academic year is 4,500 NGN or slightly more than USD$12.
