African scholars and highly motivated students globally are invited to study in Japan through Kanagawa University’s international awards program.

Kanagawa’s international awards program offers a sum ranging from 90,000 to 360,000 Chinese Yen throughout the duration of an eligible course.  The amount for successfully-selected scholars will depend upon the faculty they apply for their course of study.

Eligibility for the International Awards Program

Aspiring scholars who wish to apply for any undergraduate and graduate program in Kanagawa will receive the grant. On another note, the university favors applicants who are academically excellent and have likable individual character. Furthermore, the student must hold a Grade Point Average (GPA) greater than or equal to 2.0.

Aspiring scholars from all countries are eligible to apply. However, they must be privately-funded international students. In addition, applicants must already be enrolled and accepted in an undergraduate or graduate program at Kanagawa University.

  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Economics
  • Faculty of Business Administration
  • Faculty of Human Sciences
  • Faculty of Foreign Languages
  • Faculty of Cross-Cultural and Japanese Studies
  • Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering
  • Graduate School of Science
  • Graduate School of Engineering

How to Apply As a Kanagawa Scholar

The university requires applicants for the program to apply online. Moreover, applicants must submit the following supporting documents:

  • High school documents
  • Bachelors degree certification
  • Transcripts
  • CV
