Vanderbilt University’s Ingram Scholars Program supports undergraduates who combine strong academics and leadership with sustained community service and an entrepreneurial approach to solving social problems. International first-year applicants, including citizens of every African country, may compete. Transfer applicants are not eligible for Vanderbilt’s entering-student merit scholarships. Funding and obligations The scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and the value of on-campus housing each year, together with funding for a special summer service project. Additional need-based aid is available where assessed need exceeds the merit award, subject to the aid process. It does not independently guarantee meals, travel or all personal expenses. Renewal through senior year requires at least a 3.0 GPA and fulfillment of service requirements. Scholars commit to twenty service hours monthly, regular program meetings and a summer service project after their sophomore year. MyAppVU access instructions normally arrive within two to three business days. Use its Scholarship tab to upload and submit the Ingram application by December 1, 2026. Check for submission confirmation. The application is strongly encouraged and applicants receive preference. Financial need is not a selection requirement. Applying Early Decision provides no merit-selection advantage. Early Decision is binding, and applicants may need to commit before merit decisions arrive in late March; choose that plan only with a viable financial plan.
