The 2027 IBP guide permits foreign nationals who have never held ROC citizenship and have no Overseas Chinese student status, with additional regulated routes for applicants with ROC, Mainland China, Hong Kong/Macao or residence-history ties. African inclusion follows the general foreign-national category; nationality history can change an individual applicants eligibility. A high-school diploma or guide-recognised equivalent is required; applicants must meet selected programme/track language and document requirements.

Funding Full tuition/miscellaneous/credit-fee subsidy; Type A additionally TWD 5,000/month. One academic year with annual reapplication or conditional renewal, not an unconditional four-year award. Conditions and exclusions Insurance, accommodation/deposit, internet and sports-facility costs remain payable. Admission application fee: TWD2,000 for 1–2 majors or TWD4,000 for 3–4 majors, non-refundable; nationals of UN-designated least developed countries are exempt under the guide. Taiwan-government and NTHU outbound-exchange scholarships cannot be combined absent an explicit exception. Application timing Applications opened October 1, 2026 at 10:00 Taiwan time. Decision cutoffs: November 23, 2026; March 3, 2027; and final April 22, 2027, each at 12:00 noon Taiwan time (UTC+8). How to apply 1. Read the Fall 2027 IBP guide, including foreign-student nationality/residence rules and selected track requirements. 2. Register/login to the official IBP application system, choose majors and pay the required fee unless exempt. Upload high-school records, references, study plan, nationality/financial evidence and track-specific language documents. Complete submission, fee payment and recommendation letters by the applicable round cutoff. 3. Select the NTHU International Student Scholarship option during admission application. Submit all material by a listed round cutoff and no later than 22 April 2027 at noon Taiwan time. 4. Scholarship eligibility is reviewed after admission eligibility and results are announced with admission results. Recipients normally reapply annually. Type A adds TWD5,000 monthly; Type B does not. Award normally covers one academic year with annual reapplication or specified conditional renewal.
