Présentation du programme

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at The American University in Cairo (AUC) funds graduate degrees for academically talented young Africans facing economic and social barriers, with around 300 fellowships planned. ## Who can apply - Citizen of at least one African country and currently living in Africa - Aged 35 or younger when applying - New graduate degree-seeking student meeting AUC graduate admission requirements (transfers not eligible) - Bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.2/4.0 or equivalent - Demonstrated financial need; women, forcibly displaced people and people with disabilities are encouraged ## What it covers Tuition for nine credits per semester, a stipend in fall and spring, laptop, student services fees, medical and health insurance, university housing, AUC bus subscription or travel allowance, round-trip airfare for fellows not living in Egypt, and possibly English courses. Some fellows may receive research, publication and conference funding. ## Obligations Full-time study, GPA of at least 3.2, and 12 hours a week of related academic work. ## Deadlines - **Spring 2027:** applications open 7 October 2026 and close 2 November 2026 - Fall 2027: Cycle 1 opens 22 December, closes 17 January; Cycle 2 opens 6 April, closes 6 May AUC does not state a timezone; assume Cairo time. ## How to apply 1. Submit the AUC graduate online application. 2. Submit the separate Mastercard Foundation Scholars online application.
