Présentation du programme

## Overview The SEPT MBA at Leipzig University is one of very few master's programmes in the world built specifically around promoting and developing small and medium-sized enterprises. It draws on Germany's Mittelstand model and is aimed at people already working with SMEs in developing and emerging economies. A limited number of DAAD EPOS scholarships are attached to it. ## Level and destination Master of Business Administration, four semesters, taught entirely in English, starting in the winter semester in Leipzig, Germany. ## Eligibility for African applicants * From a DAAD-eligible developing country. * Undergraduate degree of 180 ECTS or more from a reputable university. * English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 78 or higher, IELTS academic 6.0 overall, or a letter confirming your undergraduate degree was taught in English. TOEFL ITP, TOEIC, IELTS General Training and Duolingo are not accepted. * At least two years' professional experience in SME promotion and training. * You must satisfy the DAAD's own EPOS conditions as well as the programme's admission criteria. ## Funding coverage and exclusions Selection is made by a committee drawn from DAAD, the SEPT Competence Center and Leipzig University's International Centre. The DAAD EPOS package provides a monthly living stipend, health insurance and travel costs; check the DAAD EPOS scheme page for the current rates. The programme's pages do not state how tuition is handled for scholarship holders — ask SEPT directly before you count on a fee waiver. ## Deadline **1 October 2026** for DAAD EPOS applicants, for studies beginning October 2027. The window opened on 1 August 2026. Self-financed applicants apply between 1 January and 15 March for an October start the same year — do not use that later date if you want the scholarship. ## How to apply 1. Prepare a signed two-page motivation letter, a Europass CV, certified degree and transcript copies, English-language evidence and proof of work experience. 2. Complete the DAAD EPOS application form and checklist, signed. 3. Submit everything through the SEPT online application platform before 1 October 2026. ## Official links Apply: [SEPT MBA application page](https://www.wifa.uni-leipzig.de/en/sept-competence-center/masters-program/application) · Programme detail: [DAAD International Programmes](https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/detail/9746/) **Verified:** 19 September 2026.
