Bath Merit Scholarships 2027/28

Overseas-fee applicants permanently domiciled in a listed country, with their entire qualifying degree studied there, a high UK 2:2 equivalent and an eligible 2027 full-time campus-based taught master’s offer. Kenya and Nigeria are the listed African countries.

Programme category: Scholarship Application status checked on 22 October 2026: OPEN. Bath Merit Scholarships offer a £5,000 tuition discount for the first year of eligible full-time, campus-based taught master’s courses starting in 2027. The participating faculties are Science, Engineering and Design, and Humanities and Social Sciences. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee an award. Applicants must pay overseas fees, hold a qualifying offer, have at least a high UK 2:2 equivalent and never previously have studied at Bath. They must be permanently domiciled in an eligible country and have studied their entire qualifying degree there. Kenya and Nigeria are the African countries on the list. Eligibility depends on domicile and study location, not African citizenship alone. Excluded courses include MRes, integrated undergraduate master’s and integrated PhD routes, degree apprenticeships, MArch (Hons) Architecture, and the two Contemporary European Studies Euromasters routes. School of Management courses are outside this scheme. Other Bath funding, a full third-party tuition scholarship, or a Bath-partner sponsorship discount prevents receipt of this award. There is no separate scholarship form. Bath assesses the course application and emails successful candidates. To accept, meet admission conditions, accept the course offer and pay the deposit by the offer reply deadline. Applications for 2027 courses are open; follow the specific course deadline, not another scholarship’s rounds. The award cannot be deferred, claimed retrospectively or used for repeat/extension periods. It is not cash or living support. Changes to study or eligibility can reduce or withdraw it and may require repayment; publicity participation may be expected. Read the complete terms before accepting.
