Equity Group and Mastercard Foundation launched the Wings to Fly scholarship program for Kenyans

The Equity Group and Mastercard Foundation (MCF) launched the Wings to Fly scholarship program for Kenyans who are financially challenged and need support for their secondary education.

Top performing children across the country are eligible for support from the two organizations and other partners. Under the Wings to Fly program, Kenyan youth are able to access leadership training, among other financial provisions and benefits.

Wings to Fly Scholarship Program Details

The Equity Group, in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation, offers comprehensive support for the Kenyan scholars through provision of tuition fees, accommodation, books, uniform, shopping, pocket money, and transport to and from school during their four years of secondary education.

As of writing, the Wings to Fly Scholarship Program for Kenyans has aided 26, 304 scholars. Meanwhile, the MCF has also committed to supporting 10,000 more scholars through two phases of funding. The last intake will be joining the program in 2021.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Applications for the Wings to Fly Scholarship Program are open to all financially-challenged Kenyas who are about to enter and are currently in secondary education. Furthermore, the program beneficiaries are selected from across Kenya, based on their performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.

How to Apply through the Equity Group and Mastercard Foundation

All applications for the Equity Group and Mastercard Foundation-sponsored scholarship are made at all Equity Bank branches, Equity Agents, and on the Equity Group Foundation’s website. Beneficiaries of the scholarship are selected by the Community Scholarship Selection Board (CSSB), which is made up of key leaders in the community and is chaired by the County or sub-County Director of Education.
