## Overview The Yenching Academy of Peking University offers a fully funded master's degree in interdisciplinary China Studies on Peking University's historic Beijing campus. Scholars build their own study path across six research areas in the humanities and social sciences, and the programme combines classroom study with field trips, language learning and an international cohort chosen for leadership potential. ## Level and destination Master's degree (China Studies) at Peking University, Beijing, China — 2027 cohort. ## Eligibility for African applicants Open to international applicants from every African country. You need: * a bachelor's degree in any discipline, completed by the required enrolment date; * a strong academic record; * proof of English proficiency; * a clear, demonstrated interest in China and in the Academy's interdisciplinary approach. If you study at, or graduated from, one of the Academy's partner universities, you must apply through your university's internal pre-selection process rather than directly. ## Funding coverage and exclusions The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, one round-trip international journey and field study costs. Visa fees, personal spending and any dependants' costs are not covered. ## Deadline **30 November 2026 at 09:00 Beijing time (UTC+8)** for international candidates. Applications for the 2027 cohort opened on 1 September 2026. ## How to apply 1. Confirm whether your university is an Academy partner — if it is, start with its internal pre-selection. 2. Create an account on Peking University's online application system through the Academy's admissions page. 3. Upload your transcripts, degree certificate, English test result, personal statement, CV and references. 4. Submit before 30 November 2026, 09:00 Beijing time.
