Established in 2006 by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, this scholarship supports outstanding international students studying at universities in Shanghai, including Fudan, Tongji, Shanghai Jiao Tong, East China Normal and others. ## What it covers - Full category: tuition exemption, monthly living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance - Partial category: tuition exemption only ## Who can apply Non-Chinese nationals in good health, applying for undergraduate, Master's or doctoral study at a participating Shanghai university. Age limits apply (typically 25 for undergraduate, 35 for Master's, 40 for doctoral) and applicants may not hold another Chinese government scholarship. ## How to apply Apply directly to your chosen Shanghai university's international students office and indicate the Shanghai Government Scholarship on the application. Each university publishes its own deadline, usually between December and April.
