Researchers who have recently completed (or will complete) a PhD in the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics or computing. Must be nominated by one of ~100 partner universities worldwide, including several African institutions.

## About Schmidt Science Fellows Schmidt Science Fellows funds the world's top PhD graduates to undertake a postdoctoral "pivot" into a new scientific discipline, equipping them to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time. ## What is offered - USD 110,000 annual stipend for one year (with the possibility of a second year) - Funded placement at a leading host laboratory worldwide - Year-long Global Meeting Series with leading scientists, policymakers and entrepreneurs - Mentorship from world-class scientists - Lifelong membership in the Schmidt Science Fellows alumni community ## Eligibility - PhD in the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics or computing, awarded between certain dates each cycle - Outstanding research record (typically first-author publications in top journals) - Commitment to undertake a disciplinary pivot (e.g. biologist moving into machine learning) - Must be nominated by one of the 100+ Schmidt partner universities (including several in Africa, the US, UK, Europe and Asia) ## How to apply University nominations open in July; nominees then submit a full application.
