Conditions and exclusions A guaranteed hall place is not advertised as free accommodation.; Funding normally lasts the normative study period; an extra year is selective. Application timing Main round: 1 December 2026 at 23:59 Hong Kong time. Vacancy-dependent first clearing round ends 30 April 2027 and second clearing round ends 31 August 2027, each at 23:59 Hong Kong time. How to apply 1. Check three-year/four-year full-time PhD admission and programme requirements. 2. Create an account in HKU research admission, complete and submit the application by the appropriate round deadline; the login page warns unsubmitted accounts are deleted after four weeks. 3. All full-time PhD applicants are considered automatically for HKU-PS. Main-round applicants are encouraged, not required, to submit an additional HKPFS application. 4. Clearing-round applications are considered only where vacancies remain.
